In early 2014 RHI was tasked to design and install a custom stretch tent for a 150 square meter, octagon-shaped floating jetty at boutique hotel and restaurant, Au de Hex. Situated in Wellington – the heart of the Cape winelands – we were excited at the prospect of taking on another project at this beautiful venue.
Nuestro reto
Au de Hex was looking to attach a stretch tent to their restaurant, Au’ de Vine, which would allow them to accommodate bigger groups of people for the various functions that they host on a regular basis. This required the design and manufacture of a 370 square meter tent, seating about 180 people.
La receta de RHI
- Sencillez. La carpa debía diseñarse de tal manera que al personal le resultara lo suficientemente fácil montarla y desmontarla con regularidad.
- Versatilidad. La tienda debía poder montarse con los laterales abiertos o cerrados, dependiendo del caprichoso clima de Ciudad del Cabo.
- Practicality. The tent had to cover two large pergola structures with grape vines growing on them. The idea here was to include the grape vines inside the tent when it was set up – serving as part of the decoration for the venue. (Read our guide to stretch tent décor)
- Funcionalidad. Por último, la carpa también tenía que cubrir 30 metros de un canal de agua (que abastece de agua al embalse de la granja) tanto cuando se montaba con los laterales abiertos como cerrados.
Cómo lo hicimos
The structure was designed with two tents that link together with our guttering system. We aimed to give Au de Hex the option of a large and a small stretch tent, depending on the size of the event. Two smaller tents instead of one big tent also simplifies setup and takedown of the structure.
Fabricado según especificaciones
Una vez fabricada la membrana, la carpa encajó a la perfección y se instaló para su primera puesta en servicio.
Au de Hex, un lugar muy conocido para celebrar bodas, ahora puede ofrecer a sus clientes una experiencia aún mejor: imagínate un aperitivo a la sombra de la carpa del embarcadero flotante, seguido de la recepción en la nueva carpa para eventos, situada a solo unos pasos de distancia. Nadie quiere sentarse en un restaurante sofocante cuando puede sentir la brisa del campo en la piel y maravillarse con las impresionantes vistas de los viñedos desde debajo de una carpa a la sombra.
Esto no hace más que demostrar que Carpas Tensadas no solo son estructuras Carpas Tensadas que aportan vida y ambiente a un evento, sino que también son muy funcionales y versátiles, y pueden instalarse en casi cualquier espacio.
